About Vernak

Jarrett graduated from Clemson University with a degree in Construction Science and Management. Upon graduation, he joined the family business, where he built many custom homes, learned design software, oversaw construction operations, and managed superintendents, all while managing sales as well. He loved that work was different every day, sometimes even getting dirty sweeping, grading, or whatever was needed. The residential construction business is fun, challenging, worrisome, rewarding, etc. all wrapped up into one, and the preconstruction/planning/design phases are his favorites.

Since Jarrett grew up in the residential custom home business, he developed a love for the industry from a young age. He continued in the residential custom home business with a supervisory/project management and design/drafting role after moving to the upstate of South Carolina in 2014 until 2020. In 2020, he decided to take on a design role with one of the top custom builders in the state and found that design was his true passion. He created Vernak to provide design services to builders, architects, and homeowners in the southeast in an a la carte fashion to meet their specific goals, wants, and needs.
